Robotic Surgical Center

Severance's Gastric Cancer Clinic conducts approximately 1,600 operations a year and therefore, seeks to offer optimal treatment to our patients. For example, an electrocautery tool incises with the least amount of bleeding and halves the operation time from 4 to 2 hours. With new and innovative surgical methods, and abandoning outdated and painful methods, the gastric cancer treatment team has reduced the days of hospitalization from 10-12 days to only 5-7 days.

The Breast center equipped with state-of-the-art mammography, breast ultrasound, and mammography equipment, provides patient-oriented and-stop service through which patients can receive diagnosis, examinations, scheduling of treatment, and surgery.
Patients who visit the Breast Center are first examined by the Department of Surgery, who further refine their diagnosis through cooperation with the Departments of Radiology and Pathology. 

The Cancer Center at Konyang University Hospital is composed of teams that specialize in; stomach cancer, liver cancer, pancreatic cancer, colorectal cancer, thyroid and breast cancer, lung cancer, obstetrical cancer and prostate cancer. The center also takes care of the outpatients of the departments of digestive internal medicine, respiratory internal medicine, blood tumor internal medicine, obstetrics, urology, cardiothoracic surgery and radiation oncology. The center, which introduced the Robotic Cyber-knife for the first time in Korea in 2007, is now equipped with the Rapid Arch.

Center for breast and thyroid cancer, led by Chan-Heun Park MD, chairman of the board of Korean break cancer research association, has successfully operated Korea's first endoscopyassisted breast cancer and thyroid cancer surgery and won an award for the best thesis from the International Society for Gynecologic Endoscopy. Endoscopy-assisted breast cancer surgery is done by an axillary and a periareolar 3~5cm incision to create working space for endoscopy to remove the tumor.

Incheon Area Cancer Care Center designated by the Ministry of Health & Welfare has opened on October 2011. With its largest facility in the nation and over 20 medical coordinators specialized in cancer treatment, Cancer Care Center provides high quality patient management based on the ideal of humanism, and individualized one-stop service. The introduction of multidisciplinary system has greatly improved the speed of the overall cancer treatment process in the Cancer Center as the professional coordinators guide each care process promptly and accurately in the front line.
