The Dept. of Neurosurgery diagnoses and treats diseases of brain and spine in the central nerve system, and disorders in the peripheral nerve system. This department can be divided into cerebral vascular surgery, pediatric neurosurgery, brain tumor surgery, brain stereotactic – function surgery, spinal surgery and trauma and peripheral neurosurgery. Having established a solid foundation through a great deal of effort, this department is ready to step forward with a new vision and goals for the next 10 years. With the current trends of the increased elderly population and the emergence of more complex disease patterns, more specialized medical services and research in the areas of brain tumor or cerebral vascular diseases are expected. In addition, internal/external collaboration system with relevant basic or clinical departments at the hospital will be developed to maximize the department’s capacity.
